It seems crazy, but after nearly 6 months the time has come for us to leave Huaraz.  We´ll miss the Lodge, all the great people, the mountains, the restaurants, the biking, the ice cream and many other things, but it feels right to be back on the road again.
A special thanks to Alex and Bruni [...]

We woke up on day four and packed up camp. Around 8am Edmundo ambled into camp. As we were half expecting, he brought us a full kilo of cheese instead of the half kilo we had requested. Who can blame him for trying to make a bit more money? And either [...]

Yesterday was our last day working at The Way Inn.  Overall, it´s been a really good experience.  Learned a lot, met a lot of good people.  It will definitely be hard to leave our new friends!  Oh, and those comfy beds, hot showers and good food…but one must press on.

Cycling Adventures

Life is tough. This is where we ride:

Thanks Kim, for heading out with us.  It was a great day!

There is one drawback to riding in Peru.  Cows.

What a week!

It seems like it´s been a while since we posted last, and so much has happened since then! We climbed a mountain, had family come visit, and did a whirlwind tour of Ecuador!
Thanks to my lovely father and grandmother for coming down to Ecuador to visit. Grandma was a real trooper and met all the [...]

Baños is a sleepy little resort town four hours south-east of
Quito. It is known for its thermal baths: mineral water heated underground by its proximity to an active volcano. When we left
Quito on Friday afternoon for Baños, we knew all this. We just didn’t know how active the volcano would become.

Climbing Mt. Washington
The first trial run for our gear happened over the MLK weekend.  The OSU Mountaineers Club took their annual trip to Mt. Washington and we went with them.
The trip is always a frantic non-stop event; travel 13 hours in a van to New Hampshire, rent crampons and axes, climb up and down the mountain, [...]
